Who are the England under-20 players to watch?

Fresh off the plane from South Korea, England’s under-20s have found themselves more popular than ever after bringing home the Fifa Under-20 World Cup. They have done what the senior England squad have not been able to do since winning the World Cup in 1966, and it looks like their football careers are only just getting started. Here are some of the England under-20 players that you should look out for.

Freddie Woodman

The winner of the Golden Glove award for his performance as a goalkeeper, Woodman has been attracting interest from various football managers in the top two tiers. His superb penalty save in the 75th minute of the final helped England triumph. With Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho keeping tabs, this is a name that you will hear more of in the near future.

Ademola Lookman

Lookman’s dramatic goal on his Premier League debut for Everton instantly got people interested in this hardworking forward (http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/ademola-lookman-interview-everton-england-u20s-world-cup-a7756391.html). It’s no wonder Everton paid £11 million to add him to their ranks. He currently has eight senior appearances for the club and is now even more likely to get first team football next season.

JonJoe Kenny

Kenny was one of the only England under-20 players to play every minute in the tournament. He recently helped the Everton under-23 side win the Premier League 2 title by captaining them to victory. He is one of the up and coming defenders who will no doubt become a big name in the footballing world.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Another striker from the Everton team, it won’t be long before fans are getting his name printed on their football team kits, and sites such as https://www.kitking.co.uk/ might struggle to keep up with the demand! He has already signed a new deal with Everton, hardly surprising for the player who scored the winning goal in the final.

Josh Onomah

With 31 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur under his belt, Onomah is one player who will surely be a familiar first team member in the very near future. He is a solid midfielder with excellent technical ability, perfect for Tottenham, or any other Premier League club for that matter.

With these players gaining more and more first team appearances for their respective clubs, it doesn’t seem like it will be long before they become household names.
